今日の株式市場は、寄り前から、米労働省から11月の雇用者数の伸びと失業率が低水準となる良い感触を得ていた。
Stock pushed up to solid early gains Friday, as a healthy November payrolls report and a retreat in oil prices figured into early trade. The Dow Jones industrial average popped 1%. The S&P 500 showed a 0.9% gain, and the Nasdaq added 0.8%. Small caps played catch up, with the Russell 2000 showing a 0.6% advance.
Volume was mixed. Trade rose 4% on the NYSE but was 4% lower on the Nasdaq, relative to activity at the same time Thursday.
The stock market today received a nice send-off from the Labor Department before the open, as payroll growth slowed less than expected, and the unemployment rate held steady in November.
