Stocks held on to the bulk of early gains going into the noon hour Monday, riding a global wave of buying that started in the U.S. Friday afternoon and as spread across the planet.
The Nasdaq rose 1%; the S&P 500 gained 1.2% and the Dow Jones industrial average was up 1.1% in the stock market today. Volume was tracking higher than the same time Friday on the NYSE and lower on the Nasdaq.
